a wave and Community Solidarity Projects, in partnership with Non Plus Ultra, are proud to welcome Oakland-based rap pioneer, Squadda B (Bruiser Brigade, Main Attrakionz), and legendary beat-maker, mars kumari (Handsmade Collective, Bruiser Brigade, Deadverse), back to Los Angeles in support of SOMETHING ABOUT THE FUNDRAISER HERE.
The night begins with an Open Aux hosted by/featuring E+RO=3 aka EROZilla (starting at 7PM). Bring your in-progress tracks, or a beat machine, to plug in and share. Los Angeles-based electronic musician Meredith Guerrero is up next, throwing down a kaleidoscopic, all hardware beat set. Doomi Soomi provides a palette cleanser of sorts with her unmissable combination of banjo, harmonium, and accordion (often played simultaneously).
Our main event is a rare Los Angeles appearance by two of Oakland's finest: mars kumari and Squadda B. something something.
Something about the fundraiser!

Rap pioneer Squadda B was co-founder of the landmark duo Main Attrakionz and is a current member of Danny Brown's Bruiser Brigade.
When Jacques Derrida defined the lingering Marxism of late-Capitalist society as hauntological, mashing together the words haunting and ontology, he couldn’t have imagined what the era might sound like. Mars Kumari captures the grief and grit of loss we all feel now, haunted as we are by what was here and is now missing."

Janet (Doomi Soomi) is a Los Angeles based multi-instrumentalist who celebrates the acoustic beauty of her instruments with dynamic, non-traditional form. Merging influences from experimental electronic to early piano jazz, Doomi Soomi takes listeners on a fantastical melodic journey through long form instrumental pieces. Soomi's banjo, accordion, and other instruments provoke a meditation on the question of where music is to be found.
E Ross III, (one of Leimert Park's finest) musically known as E+RO=3 (E ROW 3), EROZilla (E ROW Zilluh) and formerly known as Ravage Beats (circa 2007-2012), is a musical polymath of sorts...He is a professional music producer, educator, audio & sound designer, engineer, and certified beat scene performance legend. ERO is highly regarded & respected as one of the originators and curators of the past (and current) worldwide L.A. beat scene circa 2007/08. One of the few unique music makers who would be considered top tier in original beats, remixes, and/or flips: both live or studio recorded. His style ranges from pure soul/neo soul based beats all the way to house, glitch, 8-bit, and even children’s music (some under different alias’s-but you didn't actually hear that).
His live beat set is one of the most unique performances (sonically and visually) you will ever see & hear, with a sincerity that resonates with just about everyone who witnesses. The pleasure's all yours…
